Donut EXPERIMENT
There was a moment when I had an extra donut and thought it would be funny to put it on a tree branch. So I did. From there I found myself inspired to place more donuts in even stranger places and circumstances.
To me, Donuts have always symbolized our delicious laziness. Seeing those symbols out of context was so amazingly odd, I had a hard time stopping this habit. The donut installations were left in their environment to later be found and observed by the public.
ANIMAL kingdom EXPERIMENT
Off an on for 10 years I placed little plastic animal figures around the gritty neighborhoods of San Francisco. I liked the idea of people discovering these little animals amongst their city, wondering why the hell somebody put them there–hopefully considering them as little reminders of their place within the animal kingdom that we can never get away from.
The experiment got some nice press love. Many are still up if you know where to look.
Animal Tracks Experiment
This is my new thing. I have an assortment of detailed animal track stamps and I’ve been enjoying using them to add some non-human markings next to the human variety. New York City. Chicago. Seattle. Los Angeles. Austin. San Francisco. Atlanta. Let me know if you notice any.
