BRANDING + PACKAGE DESIGN

Name, brand ID, packaging design…we were asked to do it all for a new craft distillery located in Pittsburgh, PA but before we started we were forced to ask ourselves, how do you make a craft distillery feel genuinely unique among the seemingly endless competitors in the craft distillery category? Our first goal was to be authentic to the founders. To base our design efforts on who they were, why they started this company, and most importantly – why their audience should care.

Crafting the positioning of “transformative spirits,” our design solution combined the pursuit of transformation & travel with what we felt was the natural cornerstone mark of the brand: the monarch butterfly. With its migratory nature, complex colors and patterns, the unique and innovative mark laid the foundation upon which brand voice and tone, color palette and textures, were built.
